Rome by E-Bike: Great Stories, Terrifying Roads

We took an electric bike tour of Rome with Trope, Jaime, and the rest of the crew. Mario was our tour guide and did a great job telling stories, but a poor job leading our group through the crowds and terrifying roadways.

In fact, our group hit two pedestrians on our journey. In each case, our guide suggested we keep moving!!

Largo di Torre Argentina. Ancient ruins below street level, with the city carrying on around them. Cindy found plenty to photograph.

Piazza di Ponte Sant’Angelo. The view across the statue-lined bridge leads straight to Castel Sant’Angelo. The photo also gives a pretty good idea of the crowds.

Piazza della Minerva. Inside Santa Maria sopra Minerva, blue and gold vaults stretch overhead.

Theatre of Marcellus. Another stop for stories, beside ancient Roman arches with later buildings rising above them.

The Roman Forum from the Capitoline Hill. Columns, arches, and ruins stretching across the view, with the Temple of Saturn standing prominently in the foreground.
